In 2000 I began working at a law firm in Oakland that specialized in estate planning while attending college. This area of the law was so intriguing to me that after graduating from Cal State Hayward, I decided to enroll in the paralegal certificate program. I obtained my ABA-Approved Paralegal Certificate in 2004.
I have had personal experience with both a trust administration as well as a probate administration within my own family. Seeing first hand how much easier it was when a parent has an estate plan versus no documents at all truly made me appreciate this area of the law even more.
I enjoy this area of the law because it gives me a chance to help people. I enjoy meeting couples who are just starting out their lives together and want to be sure their young children are provided for. It makes me feel good about our work, knowing we are able to provide a service that will help families in the future.
I also enjoy helping and guiding elderly clients through these processes, knowing how difficult this stage in their lives can be, and showing them that they can depend on us to help them. It can be challenging when clients come to us with disagreements among their family members, but satisfying when we can help them come to a resolution they are happy with.
Originally from Alameda, I now live in Castro Valley with my husband and two young children. On weekends you can find me on a field or court either cheering on my kids or cheering on our Oakland teams.
I hope your experience with our office can provide you with peace of mind.
